I'm Massimo, building 3DScreen — 3D in vitro human disease models for Type 2 Diabetes & Obesity using ultrasound and synthetic biomaterials. Reinventing how therapies are tested, from lab bench to patient. Would love to connect at the Summit.

Research Institution/University

Zürich, Switzerland

Humaniche is an ETH Zürich spin-off in formation, developing a family of off-the-shelf and disease-specific human bone marrow niche proxy kits and in vitro systems that provide structured insights into efficacy and hematopoietic toxicity at the stage immediately prior to first-in-human trials, where development risk and capital exposure are highest. Until now, it has raised CHF 588K in non-dilutive funding. By introducing functional human bone marrow biology into late preclinical decision-making, Humaniche reduces costly late-stage clinical failures and supports the pharmaceutical industry’s transition toward validated New Approach Methodologies (NAMs). By developing human-relevant, scalable, and reproducible bone marrow disease model tools, Humanishe aims to enable safer, more effective advanced therapies to efficiently reach blood cancer patients.

About me

I'm Massimo, an entrepreneur and scientist working at the intersection of bioengineering and deep-tech innovation. My conviction is simple: the hardest problems in human health demand bold, cross-disciplinary solutions built from first principles.

At the core of my current work is 3DScreen — a pioneering initiative developing the world's first 3D human physiological disease models for Type 2 Diabetes and Obesity. Using a novel combination of ultrasound-based patterning and synthetic biomaterials, we engineer living, human-relevant tissue models with a fidelity that 2D cultures and animal models cannot match. The impact is transformative: faster drug discovery, fewer animal trials, and a new foundation for tackling two of the most pressing metabolic epidemics of our time.

3DScreen is being built within the innovation ecosystem of ETH Zürich and is proudly supported by Innosuisse, the Swiss Innovation Agency — a combination of research excellence and translational backing that gives us a uniquely strong platform to move from breakthrough to deployment.

I'm at the Global Innovation Summit to connect with builders, scientists, and partners who share that ambition.
