Jan Pietras

Jan Pietras (Dr.-Ing.) is Co‑Founder, Co‑CEO, and Technical Director of myotwin GmbH, a Göttingen‑based biotech company developing next‑generation preclinical platforms for cardiovascular drug discovery. He leads myotwin’s bio team, overseeing scientific strategy as well as production and quality, and plays a key role in translating complex biomedical research into robust, industry‑ready technologies.

Jan holds a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering and an M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Otto‑von‑Guericke University Magdeburg. Prior to founding myotwin, he worked as a research associate in academia, where his work contributed to the scientific foundations of human‑relevant tissue models.

As a co‑founder of myotwin, a spin‑off from the University Medical Center Göttingen, Jan is actively engaged in building international partnerships with pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, and innovation networks to advance data‑driven, human‑centric drug development on a global scale.
