About me

Dr. Xing’s research interest in Architectural Science and Sustainability spans nature-based solutions, intelligent building technologies, mental health, smart cities, heritage to biophilia, and biomimicry. Dr. Xing has been developing innovative holistic solutions based on building physics and interdisciplinary research tools and, in a broader context, systemic modelling and assessment of future post-carbon built environments. Dr Xing is devoted to identifying and developing new research activities, uncapping the full potential of multidisciplinary collaboration tackling the grand challenges facing society on the horizon. Dr Xing completed his PhD in Dynamic system simulation for sustainability planning and has participated in EPSRC-funded research projects focusing on methodological and technical innovations supporting the building and urban sustainability. Besides academic research, Dr Xing also has industrial experience working for architectural and engineering consultancy firms specializing in discovering economically viable low/zero carbon building design and urban planning solutions.
