About me
Casper Garos is Head of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Programs at Philips. In this position he is responsible for enabling new innovations through PPPs, involving a broad collaborative R&D network that brings together companies, academic institutions and public authorities. Philips actively participates in all major European funding programs. Casper is based in the Netherlands.
He studied at Leiden University, the Netherlands and Dalhousie University, Canada, and holds a MA in law and international economics. He began his career at Royal Philips in 1986 as trade policy expert. Over the years, Casper has held global leadership functions in product management at Philips’ Components and Lighting divisions in the Netherlands, Austria and the USA. Since 2007, his focus has been on PPPs in the healthcare domain.
Currently Casper fulfills several key industry positions, including board member of ITEA (Eureka cluster), Supervisory Board member of AENEAS, member Innovative Health Initiative (IHI – EU joint undertaking) Industry Strategy Steering Group, alternate member IHI Governing Board, chair COCIR IHI Working Group, member BusinessEurope Research & Innovation Working Group, member European Round Table R&D, Innovation and Skills Working Group and member VNO-NCW Expert Committee on Technology & Innovation (NL employers’ organization).
