Eureka Partner for Periodontal disease solution development

Pewman Innovation is a Chilean-based company specialized on the isolation, characterization and functionalization of extremophile microorganisms for industrial purposes. We have developed 5 solutions for the AgriTech Market focused on frost protection, drought protection, heavy metal capture in soil and fungal/bacterial control, all of them based on combinations of microorganisms isolated form Antarctica, the Atacama desert and salt flats. Two of them are at commercial stage and are generating us an ARR of US$ +1M.

We have recently identified some novel biomolecules produced by these extremophile microorganisms with potential phatma applications. Specifically, we have TRL 3 validations of a microbial metabollite capable of inhibiting the proliferation of Porphyromonas gingivalis, the keystone pathogen triggering the gingitivis disease and eventually periodontal disease, without disrupting the natural beneficial microbiome of the oral and gastrointestinal tract.
