About

Civil Protection-Oriented Activities for a Dual-Use Natural and Recycled Fiber Textile Project. Development of multifunctional protective textiles for emergency responders, combining natural fibers (e.g., flax, hemp) with recycled synthetic blends to enhance durability, breathability, and thermal comfort. Design and prototyping of modular personal protective equipment (PPE) for civil protection units, including adaptable uniforms for fire, flood, chemical spill, and extreme weather response scenarios. Integration of smart textile layers for situational awareness, such as temperature regulation, moisture management, and optional sensor-ready fabric zones for health and environmental monitoring. Creation of lightweight, rapidly deployable textile-based shelters and insulation materials for evacuation centers and disaster relief operations. Development of sustainable, circular material systems for PPE, including recycling pathways for used uniforms and recovery of fiber components after field deployment. Testing and validation of materials under simulated civil emergency conditions (heat, humidity, abrasion, contamination exposure). Human-centered design of protective clothing.
