The Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii)  is one of three national AI institutes located in Canada - the first country in the world to have a national AI strategy.  Amii supports world-leading research in AI and also works in partnership with businesses to adopt AI, drive productivity and growth, and leverage AI to help solve some of the world’s most pressing problems.  To achieve this, Amii brings extensive research and development expertise to industry projects which includes a focus on building internal capacity for our client teams while completing novel ML development projects, transferring knowledge and intellectual property at the end of the project. Amii has particular research depth in the area of reinforcement learning (RL) due to the prevalence of world-renowned RL researchers such as Dr. Richard Sutton, the founder of the field of RL as well as deep learning, XAI, federated learning and many other AI domains.
