About me
Innovation and R&D professional with a strong background in water and wastewater engineering, specializing in advanced treatment processes, anaerobic digestion, and the integration of digital technologies into industrial water systems. Currently responsible for innovation activities within a water and wastewater engineering company, with a focus on developing new services and technology-driven solutions for industrial and municipal applications.
Extensive experience in the design, optimization, and operation of complex treatment systems, including biological processes, membrane-based technologies, and resource recovery schemes. Particular expertise in anaerobic treatment, sludge and digestate management, and the valorization of by-products such as biogas and biosolids within circular economy frameworks.
Actively engaged in the application of data analytics, process modeling, and artificial intelligence to improve monitoring, control, and decision-making in water and wastewater treatment plants. This includes the use of high-frequency sensor data, spectroscopy-based monitoring, and machine learning models to enhance process stability, reduce operational costs, and support the development of digital twins.
Strong involvement in European and international research and innovation initiatives, including collaborative projects under Horizon Europe and related funding instruments. Experienced in shaping project concepts, building multidisciplinary consortia, and aligning technological development with industrial scalability, regulatory requirements, and sustainability objectives.
