Waste and/or process water treatment in the mining industry
About
The Werra potash mine produces around 20 million tons of crude salt annually. In addition to fertilizers for agriculture, it also produces precursors such as high-purity salts for industrial and technical applications, as well as for the pharmaceutical, food, and animal feed industries.
Despite technically advanced processes, solid and liquid production residues cannot be avoided. The solid residues form the widely visible potash dumps in the Werra Valley, which continue to grow as production progresses.
