ASSURAF

Assuraf is a digital insurance infrastructure platform built for francophone West Africa, operating across multiple countries in the CIMA regulatory zone from its headquarters in Dakar, Senegal. Rather than positioning as a single insurance product, Assuraf functions as the foundational technology layer that connects insurers, distribution partners, and end customers — handling policy issuance, premium collection through mobile money (Wave, Orange Money, Free Money), claims management, and field agent network coordination within one unified system.

The platform addresses one of the most persistent gaps in African financial services: insurance penetration rates that remain among the lowest in the world, despite real underlying demand. Assuraf closes this gap with a mobile-first model that serves both digitally native customers and segments with lower digital literacy, the latter supported through Assuragents, a structured network of field agents who extend the platform's reach into communities that pure digital channels can't access alone.

Because Assuraf operates as infrastructure rather than a single branded product, it can deploy multiple insurance lines (including travel, two-wheel, and auto coverage) efficiently across different customer segments and geographies, without rebuilding distribution from scratch each time. Its multi-country regulatory footprint within the CIMA zone, which governs insurance across 14 francophone African countries, gives it a structural pathway to regional scale that few local competitors are positioned to match.

Assuraf is now exploring how AI can extend this infrastructure further: natural-language data access for operational teams, automated customer notification and onboarding flows, and AI-assisted fraud detection and underwriting are active areas of work. At GITEX AI Europe Berlin, Assuraf is seeking connections with AI/insurtech technology partners, insurers and reinsurers interested in distribution into underserved African markets, investors focused on financial infrastructure in emerging markets, and corporates exploring embedded insurance or mobile money integration.
