European Institute for Local Development

European Institute for Local Development (EILD) is an independent non-governmental, non-profit organisation founded in 2009 and based in Thessaloniki, Greece. EILD works to support sustainable local and regional development across Europe by designing and implementing innovative, human-centred projects that promote lifelong learning, digital transformation, social inclusion, environmental awareness, and community empowerment.

EILD has extensive experience in EU-funded cooperation projects, including Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, AMIF, Interreg, UfM, EEA Grants and other European programmes. The organisation collaborates with public authorities, municipalities, educational institutions, NGOs, research organisations, private companies, local stakeholders and vulnerable communities to develop practical solutions with measurable social impact.

Our main fields of expertise include digital education, vocational education and training, e-learning and m-learning, ICT tools for education, digital skills development, social innovation, inclusive learning, stakeholder engagement, sustainable tourism, circular economy, environmental sustainability, and the integration of vulnerable groups. EILD has worked with young people, educators, migrants, women, people with disabilities, unemployed people, local communities and other target groups, supporting their personal, professional and social development.

EILD also develops and applies innovative tools and methodologies such as online educational platforms, gamified learning resources, blended training programmes, needs assessment tools, KPI monitoring frameworks, dissemination and communication strategies, stakeholder engagement plans, workshops, pilots and co-creation activities.

At GITEX AI Europe, EILD is interested in connecting with organisations working on artificial intelligence, digital learning, EdTech, inclusive innovation, data-driven impact assessment, digital skills, social impact technologies and sustainable development. We are particularly interested in exploring how AI and emerging technologies can support education, training, social inclusion, project impact monitoring, community engagement and evidence-based decision-making.

EILD is open to cooperation with technology providers, AI solution developers, universities, research centres, municipalities, public authorities, NGOs, VET providers, startups, SMEs and European project partners. We are especially interested in building partnerships for Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, Interreg, Digital Europe and other European funding opportunities.

Through its multidisciplinary team and European network, EILD can contribute to consortia as a partner in dissemination and communication, stakeholder engagement, project management, digital education, training development, needs assessment, social impact, piloting, exploitation and sustainability activities.
