About me

Hannan Ejaz Keen is a German‑based robotics engineer and senior researcher at XITASO GmbH, specializing in sensor fusion, mapping, generative AI, and autonomous drones across aerial, off‑road, and water environments. With a Doctorate in Engineering (2024) from RPTU Kaiserslautern Landau, his PhD work introduced SWiM—an innovative shallow-water traversability mapping system for post-flood rescue operations. He holds an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from LUMS (2016), where he utilized reinforcement learning for unmanned aircraft coordination. Boasting eight years of academic and industry experience, Hannan has authored papers for ICRA, IROS, ISR, and RAAD, and led numerous consortium projects (Valisens, ENGEL, NALAMKI) focused on V2X, safe helicopter landing, and multispectral drone mapping. He is fluent in C++, Python, ROS/ROS2, MATLAB, and has hands‑on expertise with LiDAR, sonar, GPR, thermal imaging, and multi-sensor drone platforms.
