Department of Biochemistry, located in the state-of-the art facility MOLECOLAB, houses a young and energetic team of scientists, doctoral students and undergraduate students, who carry out scientific and didactic tasks. Our goal is to conduct research at the highest scientific level, as well as to provide our students with extensive theoretical and practical knowledge.

Our expertise is in nutrition as well as physiology and pathophysiology of the digestive system. We aim to discover and characterize new pharmacological targets for the treatment of functional and inflammatory diseases of the digestive system and conduct translational research to clinical settings. We also design new nutritional and pharmacological interventions and supplements and characterize their biological effects in the digestive system.

We have open collaborations with several research and clinical teams from Poland and across the world, with access to state-of-the-art tools and pre-clinical and clinical data.
