The National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) is a key player in innovation and creation in France. It grants industrial property rights (patents, trademarks, designs, and models) and promotes economic development through awareness and training initiatives.

INPI operates the single window for business formalities (creation, modification, closure) and manages the National Business Register. It also ensures the dissemination of data on businesses and industrial property.

INPI actively participates in the development of laws in the fields of intellectual property, support for innovation and business competitiveness, and the fight against counterfeiting, both in France and internationally.

Finally, INPI oversees the certification of artisanal and industrial geographical indications.

INPI is a self-financed public institution under the supervision of the ministry responsible for industrial property.
