The African Development Bank (AfDB) is a regional multinational development finance institution established to contribute to the economic development and social progress of African countries. It was founded in 1964 and has since become a key player in financing the economic and social development of its African member countries. The AfDB comprises three entities: the African Development Bank, the African Development Fund, and the Nigeria Trust Fund. It aims to mobilize and allocate resources for investment in its regional member countries, providing concessional funding for projects and programs, as well as technical assistance for studies and capacity-building activities. The AfDB has 82 member countries, all 54 African countries and 28 non-African countries.
