My organisation
SUMMA 112 is the Emergency Medical Service of the Madrid community responsable for attending all out-of-hospital Emergencies and Emergencies through its wide network of human and technical resources focused on:
-Emergency Call Center. SUMMA 112 is responsible for the reception, classification and management of telephone calls related to emergencies and health emergencies. They include medical advice, health advice and referral to health centers.
-Multiple Victims Incidents and catastrophes: Health assistance in situations of multiple victims and catastrophes. Joint action with other first responders such as firefighters, security forces...
-Coordination andInterhospital transfers: 1)Adults: Coordination and interhospital transfer of critical patients, with ECMO.... 2) Neonates: Neonatal transport team performed with Incubator and by SUMMA 112 neonatologists. 3)Transfers of patients with biological risk: Patients with high contagious infectious risk such as Ebola, Crimean Congo...
-Intercommunity transfers with medical helicopter or mobile ICU. Intervention in the activation of Epidemiological Alert Units.
-International health cooperation in catastrophes.
-Activities with the National Organization for Organ Transplants.
-External training and research in the field of emergencies and disasters as a teaching center.
SUMMA112- FIRST RESPONDER
As an end-user organization, SUMMA 112 staff members include emergency physicians, nurses and technicians who are constantly involved in identifying the real needs of first responders. In addition, SUMMA 112 will provide active support by promoting end-user testing procedures, identifying potential training weaknesses, and evaluating the technologies implemented in different scenarios with the participation of accredited health experts.
SUMMA112 is part of SERMAS. The projects are managed by FIIBAP (Foundation for Research and Innovation in Primary Care). SUMMA112 has a Technical Support Unit for European Programs called UTAPE.
