DeepSonar: Dual-engine identification of ships from hydrophones
About
Passive sonar information captured from hydrophones installed in ships or submarines can be analysed in real-time for automatic detection and identification of ships. The project will be developed in two stages:
-
Generic ship classes and non-ship special events (like seismic activity, marine mammals or other human activity) will be detected.
-
Specific vessels will be registered, detected and identified.
Taking advantage of our expertise in related technologies, a combined approach of AI deep learning and supervised stochastic models is envisioned as an hybrid solution. Specific advanced signal processing, filtering and enhancing techniques will be applied as a front-end before the automatic pattern recognition module.
We are looking for an industrial partner for technological and commercial cooperation.
