Large climate chamber for testing in extreme environmental conditions
About
Sirris has a large climatic test chamber based in the Port of Antwerp (Belgium) which has been set-up to test and validate large & heavy machinery in extreme climatic environments (down to -60°C as USP). Typical tests include cold start testing, cold & hot climate package testing and icing tests for example. More info of this test facility can be found attached and on our website: https://www.sirris.be/en/industrial-lab/largest-climatic-test-chamber-europe.
We support environmental testing and validation campaigns according several (military) standards (e.g. AECTP 230, MIL-STD-810G, NATO STANAG, DEF STAN 00-35) or according to your specific needs, which may include (extreme) cold or hot ambient temperatures, high or low humidity, ice formation, sun radiation, etc.
USP in short:
- Mass of the test objects: up to 150 ton
- Temperature range: -60°C to +60°C
- Maximum dimensions of test specimen in our actual climate chamber: Length: 10,5 m Width: 7 m Height: 8 m (Large main entrance door: 7 m x 7 m (w x h))
- IR array : Solar heat simulation up to 950W/m² (ISO 10263-6 ; 14269-3)
- Humidification setup
- Dryer setup
- recently we invested in an automated ice spray test bench – useful for example to perform defrosting tests
We would like to come in contact with the test & validation manager to present our testing facility and discuss further details.
