This call presents a strategic opportunity for leadership in next-generation AI-driven health security.
• Develop or enhance AI tools for safer, more efficient, and impactful medical, social, or logistical countermeasures (e.g., prevention, containment, health system management).
• Assemble and prepare FAIR datasets (e.g., COVID-19, Influenza) for AI model development, supporting evidence-based policy and real-time decision-making in surveillance, diagnosis, triage, and risk prediction.
• Leverage existing and emerging data infrastructures (e.g., EHDS, EOSC) while addressing cybersecurity, privacy, equity, interoperability, and access challenges.
• Identify and address barriers to cross-border data access and AI implementation in social and legal contexts.
• Engage stakeholders (end-users, policymakers, regulators) in the co-development, validation, and uptake of AI tools, considering training, responsible use, trust, and sustainability.
