About

AppCensus is a privacy-first SaaS platform that reveals how mobile apps collect, share, and transmit personal data—without needing source code access. Using a scientifically validated dynamic and static analysis engine, our cloud-based system runs apps in a custom Android testbed to detect risky behaviors in real time, including data leaks, privacy law violations, SDK surveillance, and hiddenunencrypted transmissions of personal information.

Built on 15+ years of peer-reviewed research and spun out of UC Berkeley, AppCensus empowers enterprises, healthcare organizations, and regulators to assess risk, reduce exposure, and proactively manage compliance in today’s opaque app ecosystem. By turning invisible data flows and opaque SDK dependencies into actionable insights, we give software development teams the visibility they need to identify threats, prioritize mitigation, facilitate regulatory compliance, and demonstrate due diligence.

Our platform has been used by Fortune 100 companies and governments alike to answer the critical question:

What are your apps really doing with user data—and how risky is that behavior?
