CITRUM - Citrinos de Umbeluzi SA

CITRUM - Citrinos do Umbeluzi SA, an agricultural company located in Boane, 50km from Maputo, has 125 ha of bananas planted, on which produces more than 5,000 tons of bananas per year and about 80 ha of citrus producing Star Ruby and Marsh grapefruit, Valencia and Delta oranges.

In recent years the company has been increasing the application of organic compost by decreasing a part of the chemical fertilizer, which is very important for the environment and even for the healthy growth of the banana tree.

CITRUM currently employs more than 350 workers, of which 240 are permanent and about 30% are women.
