Alexandra de Hoop Scheffer

Dr. Alexandra de Hoop Scheffer is President & CEO of the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) and a leading authority on geopolitics, transatlantic affairs, and corporate diplomacy. With over twenty years of cross-sector leadership in government, academia, and international organizations, she advises governments, businesses, and international institutions on geopolitical risk and strategic decision-making. She serves on the Supervisory Board of Meridiam, the Editorial Board of The Washington Quarterly, and is a member of the Trilateral Commission and YPO. A dual Dutch-French citizen, she holds a PhD from Sciences Po Paris and a B.A. from King's College London.
