About
The Internet of Edges (IoE) decentralized approach empowers each ground and air asset with digital capabilities, federating them into intelligent teams that combine local autonomy with global interoperability. The IoE technology has received the UAF label, recognizing its use by the French Armed Forces.
Distribution Across Ground and Air Assets
The Internet of Edges embeds networking and computing capabilities into various edge devices such as IoT, people, drones, robots, and vehicles. This allows groups of devices to connect and share digital services directly and autonomously, without relying on existing infrastructure.
Federation of Decentralized Intelligence
The IoE operates without a central server, instead relying on distributed and synchronized servers among edge devices. This ensures continuity of services and data integrity while in motion, preventing any single point of failure in the digital infrastructure. As a result, a device can join or leave the network without disrupting services or causing data loss.
Local Autonomy and Global Interoperability
IoE utilizes Internet protocols and standardized technologies to ensure that forces’ communications are both autonomous and interoperable. IoE allows groups of devices operating in multiple locations to be interconnected through other networks and secure tunnels, enabling them to interact with remote users, servers, and services as needed.
