Can research and Innovation bring sustainability and stability to the blue economy and growth?

Ongoing research and innovation are essential for unlocking the full potential of the blue economy while ensuring its long-term sustainability and stability. These efforts can lead to the development of responsible and environmentally friendly practices that balance economic growth with the conservation of marine ecosystems.

The workshop will gather three Teaming for Excellence projects [centres of excellence- CoE] in sea-related areas together with their advanced partners, creating a discussion from East to West and north to south of Europe, joining the key players Ocean Research and engineering to discuss the level of technological developments for the ocean and their importance in the recent developments in ocean-based technology and science, especially regarding energy transition and ocean observation for evaluating ecosystem services.

The proposed workshop will be presented as a roundtable discussion with experts in the field, along with an interactive, real-time audience survey.

The 75 minutes will be divided into 10-minute presentations from each speaker, and after each presentation, there will be Q&A moderated by the audience.

The discussion will gather the visions of different the different institutions on strategic topics such as Renewable energy, Environmental Impact monitoring, climate change adaptation, ecosystem services, and Sea technological advancement, among others.
