WS11: Powering Maritime Decarbonisation with Blue Energy
- Blue Energy (Marine renewable energy, alternative fuels, energy transition, decarbonisation, desalination, port adaptation etc.)
The EU Ocean Pact, aiming for a resilient, low-carbon and competitive blue economy, calls for collective action to harness the benefits of the green transition. With the Fit for 55 package, including the EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime, shipping and ports are at the forefront of this change. This workshop will bring together shipowners, port authorities and regulators to explore synergies and cooperation needed to ensure alternative energy sources for shipping are available in a timely and safe manner.
