About me
I was born in 1971 and raised in Limassol.
In 1994, I earned my degree in Architecture from the Polytechnic School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The following year, I founded my own architectural practice, which evolved into “Armeftis & Partners” in 2004 and later into “Armeftis & Associates” in 2019.
In 2007, I was honored with the State Architecture Award for Best New Architect. My firm has received numerous distinctions in architectural competitions. In 2011, we won First Prize in the Architectural Competition for the Redevelopment of the Laniteia Educational Complex in Limassol. Our work has also represented Cyprus at the EU Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Awards.
I am a member of the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (ETEK) and the Cyprus Architects Association (CAA).
From 2007 to 2016, I served as a member of the Limassol Municipal Council under Mayor Andreas Christou. During that time, I chaired the Development and Tourism Committee, led the Democratic Party (DIKO) Municipal Group (2012–2016), and represented the Union of Cyprus Municipalities on the Town Planning Board for Policy Exceptions (SYMEPA) from 2015 to 2017.
Between 2018 and 2024, I served as President of the Pancyprian Organisation of Families of Fallen Resistance Fighters. In 2014, I founded the Andreas Armeftis Institute for the Study of Democracy—a non-profit scientific organization committed to promoting the values of democracy and reconciliation.
In July 2024, I was elected Mayor of Limassol. I am committed to promoting a modern, sustainable, and socially responsible city, enhancing Limassol's cultural, social, and urban development.
