AGC 98 S.r.l. is an Italian consulting firm specialising in environmental sciences, fisheries, aquaculture, and blue economy development. The company operates across a broad spectrum of activities, including environmental assessments and impact evaluations, the design and implementation of eco-compatible development plans, and the formulation of waste management strategies for urban, industrial, and hazardous waste. It also provides services related to potable water treatment and distribution, as well as the collection and disposal of wastewater from civil, agricultural, and industrial sources. In addition, AGC 98 S.r.l. is active in the planning and management of protected areas and natural parks, both terrestrial and aquatic, including marine and freshwater systems. The firm is engaged in environmental quality enhancement for industrial sectors, supporting companies in achieving certifications such as ISO and EMAS. Its work extends to technical assistance in the implementation of environmental programmes and territorial planning, particularly in coastal zone protection, restoration, and recovery, as well as in analysing the impact of pollutants on natural environments. In the fisheries and aquaculture sectors, the company undertakes detailed studies of aquatic environments, including limnic, brackish, and marine ecosystems, along with the evaluation of fish stocks and other aquatic resources. About me

Mr Serangeli possesses over 45 years of extensive and multidisciplinary experience in the fields of fisheries, aquaculture, and the broader Blue Economy. A marine biologist by training, he has worked across nearly 50 countries, providing high-level expertise in ocean governance, sustainable fisheries management, inland and marine aquaculture, and circular economy initiatives. He has been instrumental in shaping strategies and reports at both EU and international levels, including authoring the Blue Economy chapter for Italy’s EMFAF Operational Programme and co-authoring the 2024 Blue Bioeconomy Report for the European Market Observatory (EUMOFA).

In his career, Mr Serangeli has acted as a senior consultant, evaluator, and project leader for a wide array of initiatives under the EU, UNIDO, national ministries, and NGOs. His work spans from advising on legislative alignment with the EU's Common Fisheries Policy, to implementing vessel monitoring systems and fighting IUU fishing. He has led capacity-building projects in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa, including artisanal fisheries development and mangrove conservation.

Notably, Mr Serangeli has held pivotal roles in monitoring and evaluation (M&E), having led the Fisheries and Aquaculture Monitoring and Evaluation Support Unit under the EMFF, and evaluated large-scale programmes such as E€OFISH across Eastern and Southern Africa. He is also active in aquaculture innovation, leading a freshwater facility in Italy and coordinating biodiversity-focused fish repopulation projects.

His strategic insight is underpinned by strong experience in EU policy frameworks, stakeholder engagement, and cross-sector collaboration, making him a key contributor to the sustainable development of the Blue Economy at both policy and grassroots levels.
