Pitch Session 7 - Advancing Blue careers for a sustainable blue economy: Innovative Approaches

Format:In-person
Location:3rd Floor
Track:
Pitch Stage (open area - floor 3)
49 participants

Description:

In alignment with the European Year of Skills, our pitching session encapsulates the collaborative endeavours of the EMFAF-2023-BlueCareers initiative. Comprising projects such as BlueAquaEdu, BOUTCAR, Turning Blue & NextBlue Generation, this collective effort spans four EU sea basins and involves nine EU countries alongside the outermost region of French Guiana. Focused on aquaculture and other critical blue growth sectors, our session will spotlight the immense potential of blue professionals in an engaging and interactive format.

Our primary objective is the development of cutting-edge educational materials including a gamification approach, skills modules, content, learning outcomes, and curriculum (micro-credentials). This initiative aims to empower the emerging generation of aquaculture blue professionals, steering them toward reducing the environmental impact of aquaculture and mitigating CO2 emissions.

To achieve this, we propose pioneering teaching and training approaches at both higher education and VET levels. Our pitch emphasizes collaborative efforts between industries and education/VET providers to create a holistic ecosystem for both hard and soft skill development. Through interactive formats, including case studies, panel discussions and hands-on activities, we aim to foster engaging conversations that unravel effective strategies.
