Description:

With the escalation in hostility in the Red Sea. global trade has been severely disrupted. The result is considerable economic, as well as environmental costs. At the same time, piracy persists the Gulf of Guinea, and has seen a resurgence around the Horn of Africa.

The EEAS will present the EU naval operations and EU Coordinated Maritime Presences to protect the sea lines of communication in the Northwest Indian Ocean and in the Gulf of Guinea, followed by presentations from the shipping industry and from academia.

The EU CRIMARIO (Critical Maritime Routes Indo-Pacific) project will present the contribution of its IORIS platform to maritime security for merchant shipping. The EU ESIWA project will present its activities for the exchange of experience with Indo-Pacific partners on maritime safety and security.
