About me
Christian Clauwers is a Belgian documentary photographer, explorer, public speaker, and author. His mission is to explore, document, inspire, and increase awareness to save our oceans and polar regions and their communities.
He has witnessed climate change on the frontline for more than ten years and documented its impact on the most unique and fragile ecosystems. His starting point is the vulnerable relationship and conflicts between man and nature. He bridges science and policy with the power of these images.
Christian sailed the five oceans and joined various international scientific teams. With images and storytelling he promotes science and shows the beauty and vulnerability of ecosystems that are at stake.
He works together with governments, scientific institutions and companies. His work is kept in the Arctic World Archive on Svalbard. He is a Fellow of The Explorers Club and an EU Climate Pact Ambassador.
