About me
After gaining her doctorate in Law, Dr Beate Baron began her career by joining the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in 2010. She first worked on various topics related to energy policy and law at the Ministry and at the European Commission, before assuming leadership of the division responsible for liaison with the social partners at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action in 2018, and finally becoming Head of the Press Office in 2019. In November 2023, Dr Baron advanced to the role of Deputy Director-General in the Industrial Policy Directorate-General of the Ministry, where she was responsible for the decarbonisation and transformation of industries including topics, such as the Carbon Management Strategy and the new funding instrument of the Carbon Contracts for Difference. In November 2024 Beate Baron took over the role of Director-General for Industry Policy.
