Rodrigo Pinto Scholtbach

Rodrigo Pinto Scholtbach works as Senior Policy Coordinator at the Ministry of Climate Policy and Green Growth of the Netherlands. Currently Mr. Pinto Scholtbach is in charge of European and International Affairs in the area of hydrogen. Within Europe he is responsible for the bilateral relations of the Netherlands with other European countries. He is also co-chair of the Pentalateral Forum on Hydrogen. Mr. Pinto Scholtbach has been also co-chairing the International Hydrogen Trade Forum, an initiative to facilitate the global dialogue between hydrogen-exporting and importing countries.

Prior to this position he was seconded to the International Energy Agency in Paris where he worked as gas market analyst between 2013-2018. Before his stay in Paris, Mr. Pinto Scholtbach has worked for 4 years as head of the Gas Market Unit of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Netherlands. He has around 25 years of experience working as senior policy advisor and project leader for several ministries of the Dutch Government.

Prior to the government, he worked as senior policy advisor for one of the parliamentary groups in the Netherlands. Mr. Pinto Scholtbach has two master’s degrees in Public Administration and History & International Relations from respectively the Netherlands School of Public Administration of The Hague and the Free University of Amsterdam.
