Santiago GONZALEZ HERRAIZ

Santiago González Herraiz has a long working experience of over 25 years within the energy sector, notably in the public administration. For seven years Santiago worked in DG ENER as a senior national expert. During this period, he worked on the development of energy efficiency policies, eco-design implementing regulations and energy management, focusing on energy transition and sustainable development.
In July 2023 Santiago was appointed Head of the Renewable Hydrogen unit of the Institute for Diversification and Energy Saving (IDAE) under the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge of Spain. He is an engineer with a Masters in industrial engineering and postgraduate studies in markets and power systems regulation.
