Repsol is a global multi-energy company operating in over 20 countries with 25,000 employees and 24 million customers. It offers energy solutions for homes and mobility, with a network of 4,500 service stations across Spain, Portugal, Peru, and Mexico. These stations provide conventional fuels and are increasingly incorporating alternatives such as 100% renewable fuels, electric charging, AutoGas, and natural gas.
In Spain and Portugal, Repsol serves 2.5 million electricity and gas customers, making it the fourth-largest operator in the Spanish market. The company is expanding its renewable energy portfolio, with over 3,000 MW of installed capacity in Spain, the U.S., and Chile.
Repsol produces an average of 599,000 barrels of oil per day and operates one of Europe’s most efficient refining systems. It is transforming its six industrial complexes in the Iberian Peninsula into multi-energy hubs to produce low-carbon products like renewable fuels, supporting its goal of net zero emissions by 2050.
Repsol is a leading multi-energy company playing a crucial role in the renewable hydrogen sector, both as a major producer and consumer of hydrogen in Spain and as a key enabler of new markets. Since launching its first hydrogen strategy in 2021, Repsol has prioritized the deployment of renewable hydrogen to decarbonize its industrial complexes and as one of its main axes of transformation to achieve its goal of being a company with zero net emissions by 2050.
Repsol’s renewable hydrogen roadmap is ambitious, with plans to install up to 1.2 GW by 2030. This includes both electrolytic hydrogen and biohydrogen produced from biomethane in Repsol’s industrial complexes.
