On behalf of the EU, the German federal government and the state government, our team of more than 60 staff members primarily supports small and medium-sized technology-oriented companies, as well as universities and research institutions, in their innovation and internationalisation activities.

We bring together potential partners from industry and academia for innovation and research projects that we initiate and implement in collaboration with the academic sector and businesses. For these and other services, our client base also includes start-ups as well as fast-growing and large companies.

Our central aim is to pave the way for good ideas to become marketable products and services. And to help them achieve success internationally and strengthen North Rhine-Westphalia as a business location. To meet this challenge, we create and utilise regional, national and international networks. Founded in 1984, ZENIT is now the SME transformation agency for North Rhine-Westphalia.

Its shareholders are the North Rhine-Westphalian state government, the ZENIT e.V. network comprising around 200 SMEs, and a banking consortium.
