Lightweighting&Enhancing Performance of Polypropylene Compound via ZIF-8/MPF Masterbatch Development
R&D and Inovation Manager at Tisan Engineering Plastics
istanbul, Türkiye
About
While the automotive, electric vehicle (EV), and home appliance sectors seek lightweight materials to reduce energy consumption and extend range, they must also comply with stringent fire safety regulations; however, conventional flame retardants compromise mechanical properties, increase weight, and pose risks associated with toxic or halogenated chemicals.
This project introduces a highly innovative polypropylene (PP) masterbatch, functionalized metal-organic-based additives, specifically designed for high-performance structural applications such as automotive bumpers, appliance interior panels, and EV battery enclosures.
Featuring a completely halogen-free chemical composition that fully aligns with the European Green Deal, REACH regulations, and "Safe and Sustainable by Design" principles, this project protects human life by eliminating toxic smoke emissions during battery fires; simultaneously, it enables the production of lighter industrial parts—thanks to optimized glass fiber efficiency and reduced additive weight—thereby directly lowering fuel consumption and carbon footprints across global transportation networks.
The project will be executed through a well-defined, scalable four-step manufacturing and compounding methodology:Pilot-Scale Synthesis, Masterbatch (MB) Compounding, Prototype Formulation and Production, Serial Production, Trials&Validation; Validation and final product testing will be carried out by the partner a Tier-1-2 automotive parts manufacturer.
We are looking for An industrial partner or automotive end user A partner equipped to mold final components from compounded materials, conduct technical testing, and perform Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to analyze the carbon footprint, ensuring full commercial viability and environmental compliance.
