About

At KiriCore, we are working with Kiri wood, which is still relatively unknown in Europe - Kiri wood has some unbeatable advantages: it is very light and easy to process, it is insensitive to moisture and rot, it grows very quickly, it is grown on plantations in Europe and it has the highest carbon dioxide binding capacity of all tree species. This makes Kiri wood ideal for a wide range of applications. It can replace almost all native wood species and thus, for example, limit the clear-cutting of native woods. Kiri wood can also be used in many innovative applications, for example as a core material for composites or as a base material for very lightweight packaging and insulation boards made from Kiri wood chips held together by a mycelium mesh. The resulting boards can take almost any shape and are compostable.
