About me

Professor of Chemical Engineering and researcher at the IUTC for more than 30 years. He is currently director of the IUTC, sharing this management activity with the management of R&D projects. He has been awarded 5 six-year research periods and 1 for technology transfer. He has published more than 130 articles in indexed journals and has presented around 180 communications at national and international conferences. He has directed 35 research projects financed by public entities (6 of them international), and 90 projects financed by private companies, leading most of them. He has supervised 9 doctoral theses and has been co-inventor in 12 patents. His lines of research include raw materials and the processing of ceramic materials, mainly traditional ones, as well as the development of ceramic materials and coatings with new functionalities, such as photocatalytic, self-cleaning, moisture regulating, resistant to ageing, etc. In recent years, it has oriented its lines of research towards the development of more sustainable ceramic processes and products for a future low-carbon industry, with an emphasis on the circular economy
