About
LIGHTHYDRO offers a cutting-edge solution for the Lightweighting Technology project through a lightweight solid-state hydrogen generation module, eliminating the need for heavy high-pressure tanks. Using a patented aluminium-water reaction, LIGHTHYDRO produces 1 kg of hydrogen on demand with ~9 kg of aluminium-containing powder, achieving a volumetric capacity of ~47.3 g H₂/L and reducing weight by up to 45% compared to 700-bar tanks. This compact, safe, and eco-friendly system supports mobile, industrial, and defense applications, delivering resource efficiency and commercial value in line with the project’s goals of sustainable innovation.
We are primarily seeking a Digital Twin Partner (TBD) to advance our system’s design optimization through advanced modelling and a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Partner to quantify environmental and circular economy benefits. Additionally, we welcome collaborations with industry leaders in mobility, industrial, and defense sectors to integrate LIGHTHYDRO’s technology (currently at TRL 4, targeting TRL 6) into their applications. Join us to co-develop and pilot lightweight, sustainable hydrogen solutions that drive global market competitiveness.
