Ductile and high-strength cast aluminum components for railway braking systems

Dr. Daniel Tippelt

Product Owner R&D at Knorr-Bremse GmbH

Mödling, Austria

About

Magnetic track brakes are braking systems of railway vehicles independent of the wheel-rail contact. We are developing the next evolutionary stage focusing on high efficiency and lightweight design. For this purpose, we intend to utilize innovative casting processes to produce ductile and high-strength components.

We are looking for development partners with aluminum casting expertise to design braking systems for tomorrow's railway vehicles.
