Effective "Storm Protection" Enables Reduction of Weight of Wind Turbine to 1/10 th of Classical Turbines
About
Wind energy increases by the cubic power of wind speed. This means the turbines and the foundation have to be built extremely strong to withstand storms reaching 200 km/hr.
The effective storm protection feature we invented turns the turbine into a "pole," which is naturally resilient to storm-level wind speeds. This not only reduces the weight considerably but also simplifies the foundation to such an extent that it becomes possible to install it like a utility pole.
The design is selected by IMO as one of the technologies promising decarbonisation of maritime. The design is also received the badge of "deep tech pioneer" from Hello Tomorrow as well as being selected as WIPO Global Award Finalist.
