TissueGUARD GmbH was founded in 2019 as a spin-off from the Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden (IPF), Germany. Today, TissueGUARD is an FDA-registered medical device company that develops and supplies proprietary surgical devices and accessories for ophthalmology. In addition, the company develops and manufactures hydrogel materials as biotechnology tools for tissue engineering, organoid therapeutics and cell therapies, contributing to the advancement of regenerative medicine.
We are currently advancing two developments and are seeking partners with the relevant in vitro and in vivo models to support validation.
Project 1 — Hydrogel-based surgical wound closure (TRL 3)
We are developing a hydrogel solution as a medical technology for surgical wound closure. We are looking for a partner who can validate the product in an animal model of surgical eye wounds, which is the primary indication for this technology. Internal surgical wounds are a secondary objective.
Project 2 — Targeted anticancer therapy for EGFR-overexpressing tumours (TRL 2)
We are developing a targeted therapy for advanced cancers that overexpress the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), such as triple-negative breast cancer and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). We are looking for a partner who can support validation through cell-based screening and a corresponding animal model. Triple-negative/basal-like breast cancer and HNSCC are the primary targets, but we would also consider other EGFR-overexpressing models.

We are developing an innovative hydrogel-based technology for surgical wound closure and are seeking a research, clinical, or preclinical partner with access to suitable animal models of surgical wounds and expertise in wound-healing evaluation.
TissueGUARD GmbH is developing a targeted anticancer technology for tumors with high or overexpressed EGFR (TRL 2). We are seeking a research or preclinical oncology partner with cancer cells and in vivo tumor models for an EGFR-overexpressing tumor.
