The National Institute of Research and Physical-Chemical Analysis was created in order to support research and development as well as different socio-economic sectors in Tunisia.
In this focus, INRAP is devoted to be a research and development institution in order to study complex analytical problems in different fields, to develop new analytical methods to meet the national needs and to valorize research results and promote their exploitation by industries which can stimulate links between research and industry for knowledge spillover. INRAP has three research laboratories, one specialized unit and 15 analytical laboratories constituting the institute's analytical park. Research Laboratory for Natural Substances (LSN): the field of research of this laboratory deals with the valorization and the physical-chemical analysis study of natural substances. The aim of the research in this laboratory is to design products, molecules and functional components for biological, pharmacological and agro-alimentary applications. Research Laboratory for Useful Materials (LMU): the main mission is to carry out research in the field of materials science including synthesis and/or characterization of valuable materials in the socio-economic and industrial sectors. The main activities of this laboratory focus on:
-
Synthesis and characterization of nanostructured materials,
-
Valorization of mining products and wastes. Research Laboratory for Materials, Treatment and Analysis (LMTA): This laboratory was created in 2010 in order to meet the need for concrete analysis aimed at ensuring food, health and environmental pollution control. The research projects carried out in this laboratory plan to develop new materials for analytical applications, control of agri-food products, monitoring of the stability of pharmaceutical products and treatment of aqueous effluents such as industrial effluents, surface water, household wastewater, … Specialized unit: The objectives of the specialized unit of development and valorization of analysis methods
