First/last-mile access and passenger safety for rail services
Traffic Engineer / Founder of Movita (Civic-tech mobility startup) at Movita
Beograd, Serbia
About
We offer complementary tools addressing two major barriers to regional rail use: access to stations and perceived passenger safety.
Through Movita Ride, we analyse how users reach public transport and railway stations (walking, cycling, multimodal trips) and identify first/last-mile barriers that influence modal choice.
Through SafeMove, we focus on perceived safety and trust in public transport environments. The platform enables passengers, especially vulnerable groups (women, elderly, youth), to report situations, share feedback and highlight safety concerns that affect their willingness to use rail services.
Together, these tools allow projects to understand not only how rail systems operate, but why people choose or avoid them.
We can contribute to Europe’s Rail projects by supporting:
• user acceptance and behavioural analysis
• inclusion and accessibility assessment
• passenger safety perception analysis
• validation during pilot demonstrations
• collection of real user feedback and social impact evaluation
Our role is to help projects demonstrate increased rail ridership by addressing first/last-mile accessibility and perceived safety as key factors influencing regional rail usage.
