About me
Marta is an Assistant Professor and Researcher at the Department of Chemistry and Chemistry Education. With a strong academic foundation—holding a master’s degree in biology education and a Ph.D. in chemistry education—she has dedicated her career to bridging science, education, and research management.
Currently, she plays a key role as a project manager and researcher in several international initiatives, including the Horizon Europe project LOESS, which fosters an ecosystem for soil health education, CapaCITIES2.0 (Fast-Tracking the National Narrative for Climate Neutral Urban Futures), project supports cities and local governments in accelerating their transition toward climate neutrality through innovative approaches and strategic collaboration. and the Danube Transnational Programme project Sponge City, which explores innovative climate adaptation strategies, Interreg VIA SK-AT: Brie: Building regional innovation ecosystem addresses specific shared territorial needs of Slovakia and Austria, particularly in the context of public administration and regional developmen.
She is also actively involved in the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership STExperiMents, aimed at enhancing STEM teacher training through experimental learning.
Marta is recognized for her leadership in research management in Slovakia, serving as an ambassador for the Horizon Europe project RM-Roadmap, which strengthens the European Research Area. She has received specialized training at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (Science for Policy – Training-of-Trainers) and, in 2022, was awarded an ERA Fellowship, collaborating closely with Science Shops at the University of Vechta, Wissenschaftsladen Bonn and partly TU Berlin.
Her expertise extends beyond research—she has been an active contributor to European education policies, having served as a working group member on teacher training at the European Commission’s Directorate for Education and Culture in 2009. In 2024, she was appointed a national expert for the Audit of Internationalization Activities in Slovak universities and research institutions.
With nearly a decade of experience in managing international projects—spanning Erasmus+, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, and Interreg—Marta has also contributed as a project evaluator. She is an engaged member of Slovakia’s Ministry of Education working group on higher education and research internationalization.
Her professional mobility experiences include research stays at Ilia State University (2024), University of Cologne, and Alteverde University of Applied Sciences in Ghent (2023), and Barletti University in Tirana (2022).
