My organisation

The Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of Girona (UdG) is a multidisciplinary unit dedicated to advancing knowledge and solutions in ecology, environmental chemistry, soil and water sciences, geosciences, and sustainability. With a strong commitment to addressing pressing environmental issues, the department integrates teaching, research, and outreach to train future professionals and contribute to global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, and natural resource management. Research groups within the department are active in both basic and applied science, often in collaboration with public institutions, industry, and international partners. The department offers undergraduate and graduate programs, including the Bachelor's in Environmental Sciences and several master's and PhD programs. Emphasizing field-based learning and laboratory excellence, the department promotes innovation and critical thinking for sustainable development.

About me

I’m a plant biologist with a PhD in Plant Biology and Biotechnology from UAB and the University of Aberdeen. My research focuses on how plants respond to abiotic stresses using eco-physiological and genomic tools. I’ve worked on adaptation mechanisms in wild Arabidopsis and on improving crop resilience through functional alleles in Brassicaceae. Currently, I’m a lecturer at the University of Girona, combining basic and applied research. I’m keen to collaborate on projects addressing climate change adaptation through the study of wild plant populations.
