The National University of Córdoba (Universidad Nacional de Córdoba) is a public institution of higher education located in Córdoba, Argentina. Founded in 1613, it is the oldest university in Argentina, and the third oldest in the Americas, after the National University of San Marcos (Peru, 1551) and Saint Thomas Aquinas University (Colombia, 1580). Known as "La Docta" for its historical academic prestige, it has been the second largest university in Argentina since the early 20th century, following the University of Buenos Aires, in terms of student population, faculty, and academic offerings. It is autonomous and publicly funded, with the ability to manage its budget and administration. Like other Argentine national universities, admission to undergraduate programs is non-selective; students must only pass a leveling test with a minimum score of 60% to enroll.
