Integrated approaches in circular and sustainable chemistry
Track:Parallel Session
- Circular Bioeconomy & Biotech for Environment
The field of chemistry is at a turning point, pivoting away from fossil-based value chains and a linear take-make-use-dispose model towards circular processes based on sustainable carbonaceous resources, namely biomass, carbon-dioxide as well as plastic waste. Making this transition with the necessary speed will require close collaboration between fundamental scientific research, engineering, and industrial partners. This session will highlight cutting-edge research that enables circular approaches in the chemicals and materials sector, with a particular focus on bio-based feedstocks and plastic waste.
