About

The Centre for Direct Scientific Communication (CCSD) is research and support unit, created by CNRS and jointly surpervised with Inria and INRAE. It develops and maintains services that enable researchers and institutions to disseminate, manage, and preserve their scientific outputs. CCSD operates HAL, France’s national open repository for publications; Episciences, a platform for diamond open-access overlay journals; and SciencesConf, a system for managing scientific conferences. Through these platforms—known collectively as the HAL+ infrastructure—CCSD supports open access, long-term preservation, and the interoperability of research outputs. The mission of CCSD is to provide robust, sustainable tools that broaden the visibility of research, facilitate scholarly communication workflows, and strengthen the connections between publications, datasets, and software.
