EOSC open calls: Nodes enrolment, Gravity Preparatory and Inter-project, Evaluators

EOSC-A project manager at EOSC Association

Brussels, Belgium

About

In November 2025, three distinct open calls were launched related to the EOSC Federation, each with a different purpose, funding model, and scope. The three open calls will run in parallel; the related projects are expected to kick-off in May 2026. The calls are:

Second wave of EOSC Nodes enrolment call (unfunded): provides an opportunity for organisations to contribute to the build-up phase of the EOSC Federation. As such, they are enrolled as ‘candidate Nodes’, with the aim to become EOSC Nodes when the EOSC Federation becomes operational. The Federation is currently being built in a succession of waves, this call represents the second "wave" of this process.

EOSC Gravity Preparatory Grants (funded): these grants are designed to support the preparatory work for potential future EOSC Nodes. The main objective is for funded projects to prepare a Project Charter, which is a key document for a future, separate application to the EOSC Node Enrolment Calls.

EOSC Gravity Inter-project Grants (funded): this call aims to expand the resources offered through the EOSC Federation and demonstrate benefits for end users. This can be achieved in two ways: by developing scientific use cases or by piloting the onboarding of new resources into existing EOSC Nodes.

An additional call for independent evaluators is open to assess applications for the three calls mentioned above. Interested candidates can submit their applications by 30 January 2026. Evaluation work will take place from 25 February 2026 to 7 April 2026, with each evaluator receiving compensation for their work.
